Death of "A Friend"

I wanted to say something profound about Christopher Reeve. And about Superman. But words fail me. So I will just say goodbye to someone who first embodied Superman and then pushed himself to heroic levels when others might have quit. We have lost someone rare.

He helped us dream of a fictional hero, and then was himself, in reality, one of the greatest heroes of all.

Date: Oct. 11th, 2004 06:29 pm (UTC)As the day has passed, I found myself recalling not just the Reeve Superman films but just how I became such a big fan of the Big Red S. And I was pondering jsut how the man and the role can become the same, even without the events in Reeve's life. So perhaps there is more of a thoughtful nature coming.
