You think? I thought with the little flicker in the dashboard that we might be seeing more of this guy, down the road. With the hints that River might have killed the Doctor, too, I think we might see full-on Valeyardification happen. The only thing is, I don't know how we get back to Matt Smith from that brink, but we do have a plot device that unhappens things flying around.
It doesn't feel Moffetty to have the Doctor go that far to the dark side. I think also that there would be reluctance to move in that direction completely because of how much a lot of fans would rather forget "Trial of a Time Lord." (Some fans. I liked that arc.)
I was never that fond of Trial of a Time Lord, but I am a stickler for continuity. When it comes time for the twelfth doctor to regenerate into the thirteenth, I very much hope that the show-runners deal with the Valeyard question.
That's exactly the problem I think, in a lot of series, whether or not unfavoured continuity still affects or not. Comics get retcon leeway on that. *g*
