Word has come of the passing of comic book artist Jim Aparo at the age of 72. While he's been out of the industry for some years, Aparo was regarded by many as one of the great Batman artists. His work graced the adventures of the Bat for much of the 1970s and 1980s, including a very memorable run with writer Jim Starlin in the late 80s. Aparo drew a very dynamic Batman, a perfect Jim Gordon, and some very believable action scenes in a variety of comics, including The Spectre, Brave and the Bold, and Aquaman.
Want to see more? I highly recommend the Cold War thriller, "Batman: Ten Nights of the Beast."
Rest well, Mr. Aparo. The fans of the Bat join your family and friends in mourning your passing.
