innerbrat:
1) Total number of films I own on DVD/video:
Somewhere in the neighborhood of 60, I think. Someday we will unpack them all.
2) The last film I bought:
Back to the Future trilogy
3) The last film I watched:
The Incredibles on DVD
I Robot in the theater
4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:
1. Superman: The Movie - Still the best super-hero film. Hokey? Yes. Ridiculous ending? Yes. True to the hero, and to the spirit of his adventures? Hell, yes. And Christopher Reeve is and always will be the only Superman that matters.
2. The Truman Show - The first movie Batya and I saw in the theater while dating. The first film we deconstructed over dinner. And also an underappreciated classic, one which saw the future would be reality TV.
3. Star Trek II - The best of the Trek films, which means I've probably rewatched it something like 20 times. I can quote this at will. Almost as much as...
4. Ghostbusters - Still funny after all these years. Also one of the great New York movies.
5. Casablanca - I don't own this one yet. I should. I will. But I know this pretty well, too. Also, the first movie I brought home for us to watch after we got married. How could I possibly live with someone who handn't seen this? :) My all time favorite movie, hands down.
