Goodnight, Johnny
Jan. 24th, 2005 09:39 amI will defer for the most part to Mark Evanier's blog today. He provides a plethora of links, thoughts and memories that go beyond what I could offer.

I just want to bid farewell to a man who was funny, graceful, charming, intelligent, well-tailored, self-effacing, irreverent, and worth staying up late for.
I do find it somehow interesting that Rose Mary Woods, the White House secretary who was appartently responsible for the missing 18 minutes on the infamous Nixon tapes, died the same day. Somehow I have the feeling that Johhny would find a way to link the two deaths in a humorous and yet not disrespectful way.
Funny thing is that I was just telling Batya aboug how Carson had recently begun to submit jokes to David Letterman. I commented that I missed Carson. Now we all miss him the more.
