April Fools? Or Just Foolish?

In the course of looking up something, I found this very odd press release from the NYC Department of Parks...

Does anyone think, however, that this is funny? Indeed, this only serves to remind me that the haves are getting more from the government than the have-nots for real, and that those in charge don't get it.

Yes, I did find it funny, precisely for that reason (and, I think, as is more intended, because of the ocassional NYC additude of hiding "finds").

Would it be funny if it weren't effectively true?
