Sukkot and DCTV`
Oct. 8th, 2014 04:56 pm 1. The holiday of Sukkot begins tonight. Meaning another three days offline, and another three days of festival and feasting.
2. Watched the pilot for Gotham some days ago. And didn't watch the next two episodes. It was a mess in pretty much every way I care to list, and a bit dull too. Hard to feel like it will amount to much, especially after reading about what came next. Wasn't sure we needed a Batprequel, but even if we do, this is not the Batprequel we deserve.
3. Flash, on the other hand, started off quite well. Not perfectly, since a lot of the plot and the visuals felt like they came from season one of Arrow. But the FX are good, the show has a real sense of fun, the acting was good, and there were enough twists, turns, and Easter eggs to keep me excited. Grant Gustin is a good choice for an eager young hero, and Tom Cavanaugh and Jesse Martin look like they will be this show's answer to Paul Blackthorne. I don't know if this will be as good as Arrow's become, and I worry it will tip over into too much fan service. But for now, I am happy. Even if I wish they'd used the theme from the 1990 show.
