And The Jewish Museum has him!
That is, we will be home to a major retrospective of Art Spiegelman's work, opening on November 8. And there is a preview of the show (and a profile of the man) already online from The New York Times. (You don't want to know how hard we worked to get that story in place. You just want to read it.)
Putting aside my own dislike for Maus (which I think makes me rather unique among comic book readers), this show looks like a real big deal, covering everything Spiegelman ever did, and includes the entire manuscript for Maus II, New Yorker covers, even things he did for hire at Topps, where he was the creator of Wacky Packages and Garbage Pail Kids.
If there was ever a time to come to The Jewish Museum, it's between November 8 and February 2, when Spiegelman and Marc Chagall take over the building. See works by two of the most important artists of the 20th century at one of the great museums of NYC! How can you go wrong?
