RIP Earl Weaver and Stan Musial
Jan. 19th, 2013 08:40 pmJust emerged from to see that two baseball Hall of Famers died today. Stan "The Man" Musial was before my time so I only know him by reputation. But his rep was amazing. One of the great hitters of all time.
Earl Weaver, though, managed in my youth. And he was as fiery and combative as they come. Always fun to watch his tantrums, which were perhaps a bit over the top. But his skills as a manager were anything but.
Rest well, gentleman. Baseball mourns you both.
