Long Day Is Long
Oct. 31st, 2012 08:42 pmLeft for work at 7:10 am. Waited 15 minutes for the express bus, which goes into Manhattan and was free today (as were all buses). Spent two hours and more on that bus, mainly in traffic where the bus had to go to the 59th Street Bridge instead of the flooded Midtown Tunnel. Finally arrived at work at 10:30.
The office was a ghost town. I think there were people who really could have been there and didn't try. And one person who lives in walking distance and left before me because she could. Sometimes my work ethic scares even me.
Left at 4 pm. Walked down Second Avenue faster than traffic was moving to catch a different bus. Waited in line for a long while with a very surly crowd. Got home at 7 pm.
Tomorrow, there will be some subway service. I say, thank you, MTA. I don't want to ride these buses again.
