Sunday Evening Pop Culture Things
Sep. 25th, 2011 08:04 pm1. Really liked the season premiere of SPN. But I have no idea if this is going to lead a strong season. And there were flaws in this episode. Still, a good start.
2. Not much enthusiasm for any new series. The only one I'm sure to try is Once Upon a Time. Anyone try any of the new stuff yet?
3. So apparently I love noir urban fantasy. How else to explain going from one of Mike Carey's Felix Castor novels to a Dresden Files book to the new October Daye installment? Each series takes a very different approach to similar sorts of characters, each is worth reading. And none take place in New York. Which makes me wonder if anyone has an urban fantasy detective-type doing his or her heroics in NYC?
4. Haven't seen the latest hour of Doctor Who yet. More to come.

Date: Sep. 26th, 2011 12:35 am (UTC)That's all of the new stuff so far, and my Internet doesn't get hooked up until Wednesday, so the Terra Nova premiere I'll get then. The only other new show I had listed was Grimm, which, given Once Upon a Time's similarity, I'll probably try that one too.
