How Dubya Wants To Spend Our Money

Item 1 - Dubya will apparently announce in his State of Dubya's Union speech an initiative to get more people married, especially in inner cities. (I am leaving out the details, but this is how it seems to me, at any rate.) He wants to earmark $1.5 billion for this project. Clearly this is more of Dubya once again focusing on his pet obsession, Defense of Marriage.
Item 2 - In his sppech today promoting manned missions to the Moon and Mars, Dubya will ask for $1 billion over five years as the first piece of the spending.
Clearly, if we want Dubya to remain committed to the space program, we must prove to him that there are unmarried couples on Mars and gays living the Moon. Maybe then he'll send ships quickly to Defend Marriage from the Lunar Perverts and Martian Fornicators.
Of course, there is an old Jewish saying that it was easier for God to part the Red Sea than it is to make a successful match. So maybe the new saying will be that it's easier to put a man on the Moon than to arrange a federally-subsidized marriage.

On the one hand, this is stupid. The government needs to get the hell out of people's personal lives.
On the other hand, I have to give him props for being consistant. He really is applying this social engineering approach to heterosexual marriage as well.
