As baseball fans know, there has been only one no-hitter in the playoffs, Don Larsen's 1956 perfect game for the Yankees against the Dodgers.
That was true till tonight. Phillies ace Roy "Doc" Halladay just threw a no-hitter against the Reds to begin the playoffs in the NL. He was one walk short of perfect, and it was also his second no-hitter of the year.
I am supposed to root against the Phillies, based on the rivalry between the Mets and the Phils. But sometimes, my love of the game overwhelms everything, and I have to cheer for excellence when it counts most. Congrats to Halladay and the Phils on this amazing achievement.
WOW.
