Comet Wild-2:

Congrats to JPL on the twin triumphs of this weekend, the successful landing of the Mars Rover Spirit and the successful encounter with Wild-2 by the Stardust probe. This could be a very intersting year for space buffs, as JPL is also revving up the new Spitzer Space Telescope, which promises to do for the infrared image what Hubble did for visible light; and with the planned arrival of the Cassini probe at Saturn in July.
Hopefully, this strong start to the new year is a harbinger of things to come as we explore our "neighborhood."
