Dark Tower Book 4.5?
Nov. 16th, 2009 12:33 pmI'm surprised no one's posted about this announcement from that surfaced on Stephen King's message boards. The moderator says:
“Stephen has given me permission to pass along that he has an idea for a new Dark Tower book, the working title of which will be The Wind Through the Keyhole. He has not yet started this book and anticipates that it will be a minimum of eight months before he is able to begin writing it.”
It will, the announcement goes on to note, take place between Wizard and Glass and The Wolves of the Calla.
Hm. Certainly if there is a place to put more story, it's there. But I'm not sure we need more story, or if we'll want to read it knowing what happens to the characters.
Any thoughts, constant readers?

Date: Nov. 16th, 2009 06:35 pm (UTC)Honestly, it depends completely on what the story is. I am baffled by the idea of a full novel or novella worth of material, but it could be something good. It will really have to stand-alone, since the characters clearly don't have a memory of it--their memory goes straight from the highway to the woods, even if the narrative doesn't.
I would be less dubious if this was a short story.
