- The Dollhouse season premiere was far and away the best episode of the series to date. Joss seems to have found the right balance between Eliza and everyone else, utilizes the cast perfectly, and sets up a lot of interesting threads and interesting questions. The potential that the show had in season one looks like it might be fulfilled. Oh, and the script felt a lot more like what I like from Joss than anything he's done since Serenity.

- While I still have some qualms about the direction Supernatural is going, the second and third episodes make me feel better about the new season. The pacing and direction in both was quite good, and I think that the acting has been up to its old standards.

- Haven't seen FlashFoward yet. Did anyone try it?

I haven't seen the new Dollhouse yet, but with your recommendation it's definitely going on my "watch when I get home from work" list for the day.

As for FlashForward... What they said, mostly. It's a very clever setup, honestly, and the first episode did some very cool things, I felt. It's well-structured and everything... But it's not yet compelling. Good enough to give them another few episodes to find themselves, but we'll see.

One thing I'm torn between loving and fearing is that the flashes only run six months into the future. This can make for an extremely compelling one or two season show, but this is major American network television and if they can get away with it then it won't be just one or two seasons. I sort of shudder to think what sorts of narrative sacrifices are going to have to be made in order to make the show open-ended...

A bit rambly,
Ana
