Housefilk in Queens, NY August 2!!!

Greetings and solicitations, all!

There will be a housefilk on Sunday, August 2 in Kew Gardens Hills in Queens, New York, at the home of sdelmonte and batyatoon. The festivities will run from 1 pm to approximately 5 pm. The address is 144-32 71st Road, accessible from the LIE and GCP, and by subway and bus.

Assuming you are taking the PATH, it would be easier to head to 33rd Street and take the F to Queens from there.

Take the F to 71st Avenue/Continental Avenue, and then go outside and seek the Q64. You can find this bus on the block that has a branch of the Ridgewood Savings Bank. You get the bus not right next to the bank, though, but at the top of that block, next to a couple of fenced-off plots of grass and bushes. (Be careful not to get on the bus that isn't the Q64 because that doesn't go near us.)

The Q64 will take you across Flushing Meadows Park. Once across the park, you will get off at the corner of Jewel Avenue (the street the bus runs on) and Main Street - it should be the fifth stop on the other side of the park. You will know you are there when you see businesses coming up on both sides of Jewel for the first time.

Once you get off the bus, go back a few feet and turn left on Main (the street numbers should be going up.) Walk to 71st Avenue, and turn left. Go one block to Vleigh and turn right, and then go one block to 71st Road (yes, it's confusing - welcome to Queens) and turn left. We are the fourth house on the far side of the block on the second floor.
