Sort of. NASA is conducting a poll to name a section of the International Space Station. One of the official names in the running is Serenity. It's not quite the same as a Firefly-class ship, but it's still pretty good.

But we have to fight for it. Even though Serenity is far ahead of the other official options, Stephen Colbert has started a write-in campaign to have the node named for him. And he's got plenty of fans, too. Nothing against the very able and funny Mr. Colbert, but he should wait his turn. Let's honor Serenity and her achievements first.

And so now is the time for all good Browncoats to tell NASA that you can't take the sky from us, one more time! That is to say, go vote!!

Yep, I voted for Serenity. I wonder, though, even if Colbert wins on numbers if it will get thrown out. Their page specifically says "The name should reflect the spirit of exploration and cooperation embodied by the space station, and follow in the tradition set by Node 1- Unity- and Node 2- Harmony."

Which sounds to me like they want a name that goes well with the other two nodes. Which makes Serenity absolutely perfect IMO.

Anyway, I do like Stephen Colbert, but I'm definitely a browncoat first!
