Dullhouse?

Three weeks into Dollhouse, and it's clear that it's not the Next Big Thing. No one is talking about it, and I really suspect that the 13 episodes will air, there will be something a of a big ending, and we will never see it or Eliza Dushku again.

I am starting to like it but with the huge reservation of how utterly bland the main character and the Mission of the Week are. I like the cast, I like the steady reveal of various twists and turns, I like Boyd and Topher and Dr. Saunders. And the scripts are getting wittier. But Joss and company need to do something with Echo's reawakening soon, and need to have much less pedestrian tasks for her.

I keep getting images of the entire staff of Equality Now headdesking as they watch this show.

The premise isn't awful, but it just seems like something he should have pitched to HBO, not Fox. At least that way, we might have seen what he and Eliza had in mind, rather than this mess the Fox execs finally approved.
