Dullhouse?

Three weeks into Dollhouse, and it's clear that it's not the Next Big Thing. No one is talking about it, and I really suspect that the 13 episodes will air, there will be something a of a big ending, and we will never see it or Eliza Dushku again.

I am starting to like it but with the huge reservation of how utterly bland the main character and the Mission of the Week are. I like the cast, I like the steady reveal of various twists and turns, I like Boyd and Topher and Dr. Saunders. And the scripts are getting wittier. But Joss and company need to do something with Echo's reawakening soon, and need to have much less pedestrian tasks for her.

I watched episode 2 on Hulu yesterday, and it was... okay? Lynette and I had just been talking about it, and we both are giving it a chance. I'm just underwhelmed so far. Even I was a little bit squicked by the premise in the 2nd one, and that does not happen with me much at all.

It's a difficult construct to work within, and I know a lot of people are just not interested. I am hopeful that things are going to pick up quickly and become more of a Joss show. If not, then everyone makes missteps. This might be his.
