Tomorrow, we are scheduled to see two comics that we have been waiting a while to see.

One is Buffy #19, the conclusion of the Fray story, and delayed by nearly two months. Buffy editor Scott Allie gives an update about the overall schedule and assures us that Dark Horse and Joss will keep things on track going forward. All things considered - otherwise known as "How Late Is Astonishing X-Men, Joss?" - that this series has only shipped late a couple of times is no big deal.

The other is Batman #681, the end of "Batman RIP," which has suffered from delays pretty much every issue. I suspect that if you are still reading, you are used to the delays that seem endemic with a Grant Morrison comic - see also All-Star Superman and Final Crisis - and that if you are not, it wasn't because the book was late.

I've seen preview pages for both of these, and both look quite good. With any luck, at least one of these finales will be of the great.

I've actually given up on buying/collecting Buffy, sad to say. But I will be getting Batman #681, and I'm hoping the ending is, as you say, of the great.

Been there, done that, have the DVDs, and I'm cutting back on my comics. I bought a lot more 2008 comics than I probably should have, so I'm cutting back on the ones that haven't interested me as much.
