The Recall Explained (Sort Of)
Aug. 13th, 2003 09:33 amI figured it out. The whole California recall circus makes sense. In the Buffyverse.
There, the entire city of Los Angeles was part of a huge cult, and then spend days trying to get things back to normal. There, Gray Davis stepped down for a few days to make way for Jasmine, as did LA's mayor. There, thousands of Sunnydale refugees have been making things rough for the state, and the gaping hole that was Sunnydale remains.
And who knows what the First has been whispering in people's ears. Is it appearing to Ahnuld in the form of JFK, goading him on? What of Wolfram and Hart? Angel may be in charge, but I suspect that some of their clients are among the candidates and the evil staff are still up to their old ways for now.
Clearly, the events of last season on Angel and Buffy are enough to drive California mad. Oh, if only Mayor Wilkins had lived to see this. He would have ascended to governor with ease.
Now, if only I could explain this in the real world. :)
