America's First Second Generation Astronaut

His name is Richard Garriott. His father, Owen, flew on a Skylab mission and the shuttle.

He is not, however, the first second generation astronaut ever. That honor goes to Sergei Volkov. Who, as it happens, will be coming home from the space station with Garriott.

Someplace out there, John Crichton must be grinning.
