Last Week's Comics`
Jun. 16th, 2008 08:01 pmShould have posted something about Booster Gold, Angel and Trinity. Don't really have a lot to say.
Booster was very good, and seems to be going exactly where we thought it would, only there's one issue left. I will miss the current writing team after next issue, and can't help but think that no one else will do right by it.
Angel (the Buffy character and not the Marvel character, who has his own miniseries for some reason) was pretty good, though I am glad the flashbacks to the first night in Hell are ending.
Trinity was fun but lightweight. If this were a monthly, it would feel right. But it lacks the get-to-it-NOW immediacy that defined 52 from the start. And while it's clearly not the usual sturm und drang of the standard DC comic of our day, it's also not quite anything special. It could all become something good over the course of a year, but so far it's just readable.
