Supernatural Finale
May. 16th, 2008 09:30 amOn a visceral level, I loved it. The acting was great, the emotion was real, and there was no easy answer in the least.
But on an analytical level, I have some qualms. I think that the route they took with what Lilith is and does makes it very hard to see her as the sort of threat Yellow Eyes was. This might be in part because we are missing the episodes needed to make her that threat, but I think that they could have done better. I also thought that the location of the last commercial break, while perhaps dictated by the network, hurt the flow of the story and made a mess of that scene. And while the cliffhanger hits the right buttons, in the end there is not as much suspense as it seems. I get why it's there, but this won't keep me guessing all summer, I think.
Still, there was enough really strong stuff here to make the night memorable, and I will once again chomp at the bit for more of the Winchesters.
