My Lunacon Panels (So Far)
Feb. 28th, 2008 10:17 amWhile I have not received my official e-mail from Lunacon Central, I can announce my likely panels at the con (thanks to finding my name on three blogs and also getting the preliminary schedule hidden at the con website).
Friday night at 9 pm, it's a panel on media tie-in comic books. (That means, as usual, I will have to eat Shabbos dinner rather fast, dear Kosher Konspiracy friends.) I get to talk about Buffy, Angel, Supernatural and Gargoyles!! Oh, and Star Wars and Star Trek, I suppose.
Saturday at 5 pm, it's the Ten Best and Worst Moments in Comic Book History. Which is a rather large and daunting topic. Anyone have any specific suggestions that I might not have considered? (Best moment - the day Stan met Jack. Worst moment - PAD vs. Jemas vs. Quesada U-Decide debacle?)
Sunday at 10 am, it's the Future of Comics. I'm not on the "Year in Comics" panel this time, but as this panel will have Bob Greenberger and Glenn Hauman, it's pretty much the same thing, only looking forward. And what is the future? Event after event after event!!
Sunday at 1 pm, avast! It's the panel on pirates in the media. And I am apparently the moderator. Wow. I've never modded an panel before. Which means I just introduce things and ask questions. Question: Is Jack Sparrow the first great icon of the 21st century? If so, is it because he's a pirate, or despite that?
That seems to be all, though I hope I have another Saturday panel lurking. Should be fun. Will update once I get my e-mail from the con.
ETA: The Funny Things (aka
batyatoon and
ladymondegreen) will be giving a concert in their usual Saturday 7 pm slot.
