Lissey's Story?
Feb. 10th, 2008 12:06 pmSo, I took the book mentioned above out of the library two weeks ago. And I am getting nowhere with it. Which surprises me given that it's a Stephen King novel and he so rarely fails me.
Thus I ask if any of you have read it, and whether it becomes more interesting after the first 150 pages. I am sure that there must be a good story in there somewhere. But I am not seeing it so far. Will it come along later?
Thanks.

Date: Feb. 10th, 2008 07:17 pm (UTC)I devoured it, and I'd read an excerpt in a short story collection, so my relationship with any pacing problems is going to be different from yours, too. Looking back--the beginning does strike me as a bit of morbid projection on the part of King to after his own death. I think the place the book really sank deep hooks into me was Scott's first bool for Lisey, inna flashback; if you got that far and just don't care about them, then it's probably never going to grab you.
