1. Today is a big day at the comic shop. The last issue of BKV's acclaimed Y: The Last Man arrives, as does Captain America 34, which introduces the new man in the (modified) costume. Alas, I never got into the former and am waiting for the collected version of the latter, so no reviews from me.

2. Tonight ABC is rebroadcasting the third season finale of Lost. With notes. Pop-ups like those you see on Pop-Up Videos and the DVDs of the Star Trek films will fill viewers in on pop culture references, things they need to know about the characters, and everything else needed to get viewers ready for the fourth season premiere tomorrow night.

3. It's premature to say this but the rumor mill in Hollywood is saying that things are looking much better for a settlement of the writers' strike. I am not getting my hopes up, but maybe there will be more episodes of my shows after all. Alas, it looks like the strike has not hurt ratings one bit, which means we can look forward to more and more "reality" shows no matter what.

4. Been rewatching season one of Heroes. And to my surprise, it really does hold together well. It's not perfect, but things introduced in early episodes do lead to events in later ones, and it really feels like a whole story with chapters.

Even so, nothing they did for the first sixteen weeks came close to matching the brilliant "Company Man." (Which, BTW, was written by Bryan Fuller, who created Pushing Daisies. Guess I have to try that show, don't I?) If you want to show people why you watch this show, show them this episode.

I am not positive you would like PD, actually.

(Yes, yes, I am a fangirl of that show. I am still capable of saying to people that they may not like it the way I do.)

I still advocate giving it a try, though.

Loved the pilot of "Pushing Daisies", was a little leery for the second episode or so, but fell right into it as the season went on and now it's a show I really miss :-/. It's just lovely and unique.

Y: The Last Man ended in a most fitting way.
