Good stuff this time.
Booster Gold 5 - Booster tries to save Barbara Gordon from the Joker. And fails. And fails. And fails. Seems that Rip wanted to make a point, the bastich. But Johns, Katz and Jurgens also make a point that you can tell a story with a predictable ending - we all knew that Babs would not not become Oracle - and and tell it very well. Nothing groundbreaking here, but still a very good issue, as usual. Plus, also as usual, much set-up for things to come.
Gargoyles 7 - The Stone of Scone, time-disjointed storytelling, old friends, old enemies, bible stories, trips overseas, unexpected guests, unexpected twists and turns, Scottish nationalism, and the best work Greg has done since bringing back the franchise. In fact, this is the first issue that feels like one of Greg's scripts from his Captain Atom days. It's as if he needed a year to really get back into the flow of writing for comics. But I am not arguing.
