This Week's Comic - Flash

I owe you all a review of this week's issue of The Flash, but I am too busy and too stressed today.

So here's the short form: Backup story was great. Main story was poorly executed. So far, this series has been a disappointment. The newest artist is rather bland. Waid is not writing scripts up to his standards. And the guest stars are rather out of character. In short, the jury is still out but the evidence isn't good.

As I said last night, I wonder if Waid really wants to do right by Wally, but maybe is hampered by editorial needs.

I'm wondering that too. If anything the issues so far are strange. Waid isn't just getting the characters and dialogue wrong. He's getting his version of the characters and dialogue wrong.

I second putting the blame on an editor. And DC's (like Marvel's) editors have done enough damage lately. Time to let their veteran writers do their thing.
