Short but spoliery...

Batman 669: It never fails. Just when it seems like Morrison is writing the sort of story I want, everything comes to pieces. I've read this three times and remain unclear on exactly who was behind what. Or who survived. Or what happened. I keep telling myself that I need to drop this book, and keep letting the Morrison fool me and make me forget the bad Morrison. After the Ra's Al Ghul story, I think I am out of here. Again.

Supergirl and the Legion of Super-Heroes 34 - On the non-UP world of Lallor, Atom Girl, Shadow Lass and Timber Wolf are caught in a civil war and an assassination attempt. Who is ERG-1, and why is he angry at the Legion? Once again, Bedard and Calero deliver a good, readable and fun story. I still wish they and not Shooter got the full time job on this book. But what can you do? At the very least, we can hope that Shooter continues the character development.

The Spirit 10 - We get a month off from the El Morte story, simply because Cooke can get away with it. And instead, it's a satire of cable news (again). It's a surprisingly funny and well-written satire, but there is nothing new here. And I think Cooke missed a golden opportunity when he
spoofed Stephen Colbert instead of getting permission from the fanboy to use him in the story. I just hope that there are no more detours in the last two Cooke issues and that the story of El Morte is resolved.
