With about a month till my favorite con, I must break the bad news. Because our William Steig exhibition opens the Tuesday after the con, I cannot take the time off to go to OVFF. Last year, the same thing happened with the exhibition schedule, I took time off, and while nothing went wrong, my boss said that I couldn't do this again. There was just too much going on.

Before I could make up my mind about trying to ask her again anyway, we had the debacle of our canceled flight in Pittsburgh. Were I to face the same thing again this time, I would be in deep trouble.

So OVFF will go on without me. Batya will be going alone - which is a first for us - and I will miss all of you who I normally see there.
