Love it or hate it, the Dark Tower comic miniseries was a huge hit for Marvel. So there was no way that the plan to continue the story of young Roland and company wasn't going to happen.

And plotter Robin Furth and scriptwriter Peter David gave this interview at Baltimore Comicon about what to expect next.

Me? I suspect I will buy the first issue and hope that telling a somewhat new story will serve as inspiration to Furth and PAD and even Jae Lee to do better. But I am not getting thouse hopes up too high.

At the very least, a new storyline will remove the "NO, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO THE STORY THAT'S NOT HOW IT GOES. LEAVE IT ALONE." problems I had with the W&G story. So, yeah, I'll probably at least check it out.

Jae Lee just needs to stop drawing everyone so weird, because I know he can do better.

I have a theory about the art, which having looked at Astonishing X-Men I think is correct. That being that the listed "artist" does a few pages, but the majority of the comic is being drawn by someone else attempting to use Lee's drawings (or the main artist whoever it is) as a guide.

You've seen Gunslinger's Guidebook and Little Miss Mary Gunslinger Sue, right?
