No Taxation Without Representation?
Jun. 16th, 2011 07:43 pmSo as it happens, Anthony Weiner was my congressman. Not gonna comment about his downfall. But I will note that I currently don't have an state assemblyman either. She retired in March two months after starting a new term, and inexplicably Governor Cuomo II has not set a date for a special election.
So here we are, missing two representatives. And I have to wonder, is this a form of taxation without representation? Surely the people in my district are entitled to some share of our taxes back until they hold special elections for the position. Barring that, maybe they can schedule the special elections sooner rather than later?
