If you aren't local, maybe you didn't hear about this. I was in the subway when the worst passed through, but I have never seen some many trees down as I did on the way home. A trip, BTW, that took me a good deal longer than usual due to rerouting around closed streets. Flooding, tree debris, and even an electric line down and on fire.
It's hard not to ponder the significance of this happening right before Yom Kippur. Is God telling us something? If so, what?
Either way, we are fine here, if a little soaked and tired. And we don't have to clean up, unlike a lot of neighbors.
