The Brave and the Bold
Apr. 19th, 2010 08:08 pmSo I just watched a recent episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold, "Chill of the Night." Written by Paul Dini and revisiting the story from the 50s where Batman confronts Joe Chill.
Wow.
I like this series a lot. It's a bit light and sometimes a bit predictable, but it's usually fun and does good work with Batman and with a myriad of DC heroes and villains. But it's never quite been on the level of the classic 90s Batman cartoon.
Till now. This was a gripping, moving half hour, helped by a great cast (including more than a few familiar voices from previous eras of the Bat) and some surprisingly dark moments. It didn't matter that I knew everything that would happen. I just fell into the story as if I'd never seen it before.
Wow.
