The John Corzine Accident
Apr. 13th, 2007 04:32 pmSo you may have heard that New Jersey governor John Corzine was in a pretty bad car accident. He'll recover in time, but will be out of commission for some time.
There are two things about this that are of note. The first is that it was a hit and run accident, and the pick-up truck that sideswiped his SUV left immediately. Some place out there, there is someone who had better fess up and fast, because every cop and state trooper is looking for him or her.
The second is that apparently Corzine wasn't wearing a seatbelt. If you need a reminder to always buckle up, here is it.
I wish him the best. He strikes me as a decent man in a hard-to-govern state, and I hope that he can return to his job soon. I also wish Richard Cody the best of luck in once again filling as governor. This marks the third time that he's been acting governor, the first for two days some years ago - I don't recall why - the second when Jim McGreevey resigned, and now while Corzine is on the sick list. I think that Cody wishes NJ had a lieutenant governor about now.
