That's Ed Brubaker, the accomplished comic book writer who currently handles Captain America. In this interview with Newsarama, he explains where the controversial events came from, how they tie to Civil War, and what's coming next.

I still don't like how Marvel is doing another Event before the dust from Civil War settles. But it's clear that at its core, Brubaker wanted to do something different with a character whose book still doesn't sell, who is an icon but one that many think is outdated. For once, it seems like the story really came from the writer. I also think that had this just been a story, and not an Event, the fanboy collective might be more willing to wait and see what happens, and not merely sneer and say "been there, done that."

I'm not rushing to start buying this comic, but it bears watching from my perch. And it might be time to think about getting the earlier Cap TPBs and seeing just what Brubaker has done.

Not much to say this time around, so no spoilers.

52, Week Forty-Four - More of the same as last week, and sadly it seems that as we get into the home stretch, the least compelling parts of the story will be the ones DC uses the most. Are we in for another letdown (as with Infinite Crisis)?

Nightwing 130 - Part 2 of "Bride and Groom" has some surprising character bits and a good action sequence, but it's not as compelling as previous issues, and the tone lurches all over the place

Dark Tower: The Gunslinger born 2 - Great art, a good script and strong pacing carry the tale along. If you liked the first issue, you'll like this one. But the highlight is a short story by Robin Furth filling in some of Mid-World's history. I like seeing old canon interpreted, but like getting new canon a lot more.
