Jury Duty is Over
May. 24th, 2005 10:51 amHere's the thing about jury duty. You get told not to talk about the case till it's over. And the whole time you want to talk about it.
But when it's a penny ante auto crash case, with no juicy details and no great legal tactics in the trial, you find yourself wanting to talk about something that is otherwise totally uninteresting.
And thus I told Batya all the boring details last night just to get it out of my system. Thankfully, there wre only five minutes of boring details.
I am now back at work, free of my civic obligation for another six years. I'm glad I did it - I believe in the jury system and learned a bit about how the courts work. But between the case itself and the vast amounts of time the jury spent waiting for the trial to proceed, I'm happy it's over.
