Somewhere Out There...
Jan. 14th, 2005 09:43 amOn a mysterious moon called Titan, orbiting Saturn, is a probe from Planet Earth.
According to the little chunks of data gleaned so far by the European Space Agency, the Huygens probe landed somewhere on Titan earlier today. If all goes well, it will begin taking readings and sending them back to Earth later today, during a very brief (3 hours or so) lifespan.
The grand adventure, which has taken our probes to the inner planets and to the outer (save Pluto), has now landed on a new world.
More to come, we hope...
