Did You Check the LJ Home Page?

So, the good news is that the head of SixApart explains everything, and admits they screwed up big time. The bad is that it's pretty clear the LJ policy is being interpreted on the strict side in regards to sexual predators. There is nothing here about any other illegal activity, however.
The big question is whether SixApart can strike a balance between legitimate concerns over pedophiles and the right to say what we want and not have someone willfully misinterpret it. I don't expect that they will, given the current climate.
That said, I still am pleased that SixApart fessed up and apologized at all. In an age when everyone seems to go out of their ways to avoid accountability, it's good to see that someone can say "we screwed up." And it's good to see that there is at least the appearance of SixApart trying to clean up its mess.
