This is the most intelligent, realistic and honest article I've read yet about steroids and sports. I'm not sure I agree with all his arguments, but Chuck Klosterman is far ahead of the mindlessly critical and moralistic sportwriters who normally cover this issue.

Wow. That was wonderful.

My point is not that all drugs are the same, nor that drugs are awesome, nor that the Beatles needed LSD to become the geniuses they already were. My point is that sports are unique in the way they're retrospectively colored by the specter of drug use.

I think it's interesting to read the article from my point of view - someone who has absolutely *no* interest in professional sports whatsoever. I can't remember today who won the superbowl two months ago. It means nothing to me. But this article is very interesting in a cultural sense. I like it a lot.
