So, DC and Warner Bros. Animation are making some adaptations of famous comic book stories. First up will be a version of Superman vs. Doomsday. With Adam Baldwin as Superman. And James Marsters as Lex Luthor.

Anyone else's head spinning? Jayne as Supes, and Spike as Lex?

Wait. There's more.

There is also going to be an adaptation of the 1950s-based Elseworlds "New Frontier" comic. With David Boreanaz as Hal Jordan. Lucy Lawless as Wonder Woman (in the most obvious piece of casting ever). And Kyle MacLachlan as Superman.

I think I just heard one head in particular explode. Damn fine cup of Krpytonite, anyone?

(BTW, I am not too excited about these. The former is being written by the main writer on the rather dull Batman cartoon currently on the CW, and I found the New Forntier comic to be a bore. But Burce Timm is the producer of both, so U could be surprised.)

Hm. I can almost see the Baldwin, if only because that's one of the few Supes arcs where he gets desperately enraged, and Ghu knows Baldwin can do desperate rage. Marters... eh. At least he can act. If it was James Marsden, I'd be headdesking. As you say, if anyone can pull 'em out, it's Timm.

I've been sitting here for the last two minutes trying to think of something to type.

I guess...just insert very pained and bewildered look here.

Eh, Marsters I can see -- he can act and he's got a great voice. (And that wonderful British accent? Marsters is American.)

Boreanaz, on the other hand ... sigh.

All I can say is, "What, are Tim Daly and Clancy Brown too busy these days????????" Argh!

Oh, well, we'll see.

Yeah, Powers Boothe (Gorilla Grodd) did Luthor in the one. And apparently he played him like the Joker. Still haven't seen it myself.
And I'm fine with George Newbern as Supes.
I dunno.
Were you the one who had suggested Kyle as George Reeves in Hollywoodland a few years ago?
