Today is Purim, the one-day Jewish festival that marks the defeat of the anti-Semitic Haman by the brave Esther and the cunning Morechai in Shusan, Persia some 2500 or so years ago. We celebrate with, among other things, a big feast, and dressing in costumes. This is one of my favorite holidays, a day of merriment and of seeing kids of all ages having fun.
My nieces are supposed to be dressed as bears. Batya will most likely put on a blondish wig and be Goldilocks. It should be cute.
If you are celebrating, have a wonderful day! If not, have a wonderful day as well!
