Before we go any further, there's some fantastic casting news regarding Heroes.
Christopher Eccleston!!!! is joining the cast. OK, the cast is already huge, but I am not complaining.
Anyway, onto the comics...
52, Week Twenty-Eight - In Gotham, Renee and the ailing Question track down Batwoman to warn her about Intergang's prophecy of doom, which they stop. In Australia, the robot built using Red Tornado's head tries to stop a mining frim from evicting a town of aborigines, but fails. And in space, the heroes learn that Lobo stole the Emerald Eye from a crazed Green Lantern, and begin to wonder just what the Stygian Passover is.
Which is to say, not much happens, but it's well drawn and well scripted, and even the Space Heroes arc is somewhat interesting. There have been better, and there have been worse issues.
And Skeets got the week off. Maybe he's auditioning for Heroes.
The Escapists 5 - Denny's in jail, and Max and Case scheme to break Omnicorp's plans. But even as things seem to come together, isolation and tragedy strike. If we needed a reminder that this is set in the real world, the last page does it. BKV plays rough, but does it so well. What's more grabbing, though, is the story-in-a-story of the new Escapist. He's actually quite interesting now, if not as interesting as the real cast.
Astro City: The Dark Age, Book Two 1 - More of the Williams brothers as things in the big city get rougher. Gotta say, this one felt padded and harsh and didn't even look that nice. A bit of a letdown.
