Masters of American Comics Gets Rave Review in NYTimes

More or less. This being the Times, registration is required, but if you don't want to register, the first line calls the show "a landmark and a pleasure." And we get great placement as the lead in the Art section, with lots of color photos and a mention on the Front Page as well. So we're happy.

Remember, it's on view through January 28.

Saw the article this morning (yup, even here in the Midwest, some of us get the Times). It really sounds impressive, Alex!

Shame about Spiegelman pulling his stuff out, though. Have no idea whether the Times' take on what happened is accurate, but I'm sure he would have been a solid addition to the event.

I squeed when I saw the print edition's big, splashy image of that Winsor McCay comic. That's a great way to start a Friday morning. =)

I cannot comment much about Spiegelman's absence, but this article from the LA Times has the story. Suffice it to say, we wish we had him in the show, but that's show biz.

Oh, and I am not surprised you read the Times. Did you know that the majority of Times readers live outside the NYC area? In terms of local readers, it lags behind the Post and Daily News.
