Spoilers? Of course.
52, Week 13 - What was a very good issue most of the way takes a potentially bad misstep, as the effort by the Cult of Conner to resurrect Sue Dibny goes awry, thanks to Ralph Dibny and some of his superhero buddies. How badly awry? Ralph is left with his sanity broken. Which is something that seems just plain cruel. Not to mention lazy - "ey, let's make another hero a nutcase!". I cannot believe that Mark Waid would be a party to this if there wasn't something more life-affirming coming, so I am not as angry as I could be. But this also makes me wonder anew about 52 after thinking all would be well.
Detective Comics 822 - The Riddler has gone straight, and works with Batman to solve a murder mystery. Really. A better story than last month's, as Dini seems to have the Riddler's voice down, but the wrap-up was rushed and relied too much on information we didn't have. Beyond which, there are some things here that are not quite appropriate for a comic that (unlike most other DC boks) might have readers under the age of 15. The jury is stillout on this series.
