- Floyd Landis, who won the Tour de France despite having dying hips and despite a very bad day on Wednesday that dropped him way back. His perserverance and his comeback on Thursday are each amazing, but together make for a great story to follow the successes of cancer survivor Lance Amrstrong and hunting accident survivor Greg LeMond.
- Tiger Woods, who returned to form in the British Open, and won a moving victory in honor of his father.
