Greetings. At the office, we are looking to buy a digital camera and also a photo printer. We aren't looking to get something at a professional level, merely something with a lot of megapixels and a good flash for underlit galleries in a museum. Last week, we borrowed a Kodak EasyShare camera and found it to be satisfactory, pixel and flash questions aside.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a camera? Has anyone bought a camera/printer package? Is there anything we should avoid altogether?

Thanks.

Get a Casio Exilim; I think the current non-professional model that offers most is the EX-Z850. Get some SD cards for it, (2x 512 should be enough for most uses) and get an HP picture printer that can read the card, will show you the contents on its screen, and lets you print without a computer if needed. No messing about with cables and installations and silly standards that don't really work.

I've got a predecessor of that camera and love it to bits; my sister's got the printer, and while both work beautifully on their own and with our computers, it's especially lovely to combine the little gadgets and give the elderly female relatives pictures to take home right away.

No need to go for anything more fancy, or shinier.
