Since I counted this a spoiler when I avoided the article in the Times, I will mark it as such now...

The edition of Our Mutual Friend that pops up first when you search for it on Amazon is currently #842 in books sold this week. Just think...thousands of people are running to read a book that, according to the aforementioned Times article, is not significant to the big plot of Lost, just because a character owns a copy.

The book industry must love this show. I bet this happens every time a book is mentioned.

I wonder if anyone ran out to find back issues of the Flash/GL comic book Hurley and Walt were reading.

Hey, any show that gets tons of people reading Dickens is OK by me :).

And I saw that scene, too, and thought, "Yeah, I've read tons of Dickens, but I've never read "Our Mutual Friend". I should read it this summer.".

Those people are looking in the wrong place. Dickens is public domain. Which means you can find his works online for free! :P

Then I'd be heading up to the north end of the island to get myself kidnapped by that hunky/creepy Fake Henry, yo, not reading Dickens!

*grin*

Actually, I hadn't thought of that, [livejournal.com profile] buongiornodaisy, so I appreciate your pointing it out!

I know I have that Flash/GL in English; I'd have no idea how to track down the Spanish one, which was the one on the show.
